Good News

We believe that there is hope and good news for the world. God has made it possible for us to live in His love and have a relationship with Him. However, we all think, say and do things that do not reach God's perfect standards. The Bible calls this sin, and as the apostle Paul said; 'All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.' (Rom. 3:23). Though we all deserve God to punish us, He sent His son (the Lord Jesus Christ) to make it possible for us all to know the Father and have a relationship with Him. Christian's believe that Jesus came to this earth to teach us how to know God the Father. Not only was He a great teacher, He died an awful death on a cross. The apostle John tells us; 'For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.' (John 3:16). Another well known Bible character tells us: 'For Christ has also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.' (1 Peter 3:18).

What this all means is Jesus has made it possible for us to know God, to be forgiven and have hope and purpose in our lives. What we have to do is trust in what he has done for us through the cross, not living our lives for ourselves, but for God. Jesus rose from the dead and He is alive. He sends the Holy Spirit to give us life and it is through the Holy Spirit that we are empowered to live a life that makes a difference.

The good news about Jesus is that He changes people, He offers them life, a life in its fullness. In fact, people need changing from within, and Jesus does that, He makes the difference. People try all sorts of ways of changing their lives, some try to run away from their problems. They find temporary help within a bottle or through drugs. Others fill their lives with material things, whilst some even chase after the perfect relationship. The problem we all face is this, people, things and a reliance on escapism will not offer us real answers for or lives. However, the Bible teaches us that until individuals have a relationship with the God who created them, they are missing out on the purpose of their existence.
